LabAn Privacy Policy

LabAn ("the app") is a review app for the Philippine Medical Technologist Licensure Exam. It is made and run by Maynard Lance Cabañero, an individual developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who else receives it, and your rights under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
The short version: we collect as little as we can. Your study progress stays on your phone. We have no ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your information.
1. What we collect
If you only use the free questions
You can use the free questions without signing in. We collect no personal information from you. Your answers stay on your phone (see section 1.3).
1.1 When you sign in with Google
Signing in lets your purchase follow you to a new phone. When you sign in, Google shares the following with us through Firebase Authentication, a Google service:
- your email address
- your name and profile photo as they appear on your Google account
- a user ID that Firebase creates for your account
The app uses your email address and user ID. It does not show or use your name or photo, although Firebase stores them with your account. We never see your Google password.
1.2 When you buy a plan
Payments go through Google Play. We never see your card, GCash or other payment details. Google Play and RevenueCat, the service we use to manage subscriptions, receive:
- your Firebase user ID, which links the purchase to your account
- what you bought, when you bought it, its price, and its renewal or cancellation status
- basic technical details such as your device type, operating system version, app version and country
We use this information to unlock the plan you paid for, restore it on a new phone, and keep the sales records that tax law requires.
1.3 Your study data stays on your phone
Your answers, scores, mock exam results, flagged questions, daily goal, exam date and profile settings are stored only on your phone. They are not sent to us. You can delete your answers, flags and mock exam results with Profile → Settings → Reset my progress; uninstalling the app deletes everything.
1.4 Downloading question packs
When the app downloads paid question packs, notes or pictures, Google's Firebase servers check that your account holds a plan. Like most web services, they keep short-term technical logs of the request, such as your IP address and the time.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera data. We don't use advertising IDs, and we don't show ads.
This website
labanreviewer.com uses no cookies, trackers or analytics. Like most websites, its host, Cloudflare, keeps short-term technical logs of each visit, such as your IP address and the time, to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.
2. Why we use your information (lawful basis)

We don't use your information for automated decisions about you, and we don't build profiles for advertising.
3. Who receives your information
We share information only with the service providers that run parts of the app for us:
- Google (Firebase Authentication, Firebase Storage, Google Play): sign-in, content downloads and payments. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- RevenueCat, Inc.: subscription management. Privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
These providers store data on servers outside the Philippines, mainly in the United States. They are bound by their own privacy and security commitments, and we use them only for the purposes in section 2.
We may also disclose information if the law, a court order or a government authority requires it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
4. How long we keep it
- Account information: while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days.
- Purchase records: for as long as Philippine tax law requires, even after your account is deleted. Google Play and RevenueCat also keep their own records of your purchases.
- Study data on your phone: until you reset it or uninstall the app.
5. Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account and its data:
- in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account, or
- by emailing [email protected] from the email address you signed in with, or
- through our web page: https://labanreviewer.com/delete-account/
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it first in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
6. Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- be told how your personal information is processed (this policy)
- see the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
- correct it if it's wrong
- object to its processing, or withdraw your consent
- have it deleted or blocked
- receive it in a format you can move to another service
- be compensated for damage caused by unlawful processing
- complain to the National Privacy Commission (https://privacy.gov.ph)

7. Security
Sign-in is handled by Google. Paid content can be downloaded only by signed-in users with a plan. All data travels over encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, though. If a breach puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the National Privacy Commission as the law requires.
8. Age
LabAn is meant for medical technology students and graduates. If you are under 18, use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who should also approve any purchase. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
